the long journey of self-realisation

in transgender circles, it's basically a running joke that nearly all trans girls are sexually submissive. if you are witty it's an easy thing to get internet points from by pointing it out. with that said:

why is this? verily, it must be because of the essential character of the female spirit, a delicate flow— no it's because every fucking newly out trans girl ever is a deeply repressed person who's 99% unrealised as a being and yearning for ego death, and sexual submission feels accessible to them.

being transgender is wonderful and extremely important, don't get me wrong, but flipping your gender bit is only 1% of the way to becoming a real thing!

and while there is of course a path to becoming a fully realised being through sex, it's not what most people in fact need to figure out who they are, and may be a hindrance in many cases (this is not a sex-negative statement…)

trans circles (not necessarily ones made purely of trans people, not necessarily ones that exist with trans people as their purpose, but rather any social circle with a preponderance of trans people) are generally more interesting to be in than ones that don't, for whatever reason, select for transness. this is nothing to do with gender per se. it is because being transgender (assuming you actually fucking transition or somehow live out an incredibly dissociated alternate existence) automatically makes you an above-average level of real because you, unlike most, have decided to realise the single biggest thing,

but it is still only one.

estrogen or testosterone is not fucking magic that one-shots your soul into godhood, they will give you a kickstart but it's all about inner work. so long as you believe that gender is your only problem, you will always feel hollow.

you stand before a seemingly unending winding staircase leading up the mountain.

it is very foggy.

you can see barely five meters in front of you.

you have taken the first step.

congratulations, and good luck.

try your best not to turn back, the cliff is steep and… high

postscript:

the tragedy of our times of course is that our society so violently recoils at the idea of someone becoming 1% realised in this way that it often wears them out before they have much of a chance at the remaining 99%. bodily autonomy and identity autonomy should be, must be, non-negotiable.

incidentally, trans rights and psychedelics legalisation are fundamentally the same fight with the same opponents who fear both for the same reasons!

(but there is a reason i did not mention psychedelics earlier, because they have… similar if not worse risks to sex in this particular context.
despair, despair at the cracks present in every wall and the
missing stairs
